Bringing a new family member into your home can be made simpler through our Infant Care for Adoptive Families class. We've structured this class to recognize that this newest family member has not only basic care needs, but also bonding and attachment needs.
Topics covered include basic infant care, such as: swaddling, diapering, feeding, bathing, crying, when to call a pediatrician, safety issues, sleep issues, and emotional adjustment. In addition, the class will cover building family identity, incorporating the birth family into your life and other emotional support topics.
The class will address your specific adoption infant care questions. Currently, the class is offered in a two and half hour private format. Please contact the office for information on how to schedule your class with our instructor. The class will be held at the Lamaze Family Center Ann Arbor at a time that works for you and the instructor.
